Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking as early as possible to ensure equipment availability, especially during peak seasons and weekends. Last-minute bookings may still be available depending on stock.
What are your delivery hours?
Delivery and collection are available between 8:00am and 4:00pm, seven days a week, excluding public holidays. Deliveries are scheduled within a 4-hour delivery window (8am–12pm or 12pm–4pm).
Do you offer specific delivery times?
If you require a specific delivery time, we may be able to accommodate this for an additional fee, subject to availability. We recommend getting in touch to discuss before placing your booking.
Do you deliver the day before the event?
Subject to availability, equipment may be delivered up to 24 hours before your event or collected up to 24 hours after the booking time. We will notify you if this applies.
Do you set up the equipment?
Some equipment can be installed or set up by our team for an additional fee. This service must be requested and booked in advance.
Where will the equipment be delivered?
Delivery is to ground level access only. Additional charges may apply if the setup location is more than 50 metres from where our vehicle can park, involves stairs, steep access, or upper levels of buildings.
What happens if the setup location is not suitable?
The equipment must be placed on level and stable ground. If the location is unsuitable, we may refuse installation or cancel the booking, and additional charges may apply.
What if something gets damaged?
The Hirer is responsible for the care and safe use of the equipment while it is in their possession. Charges may apply for lost, damaged, or excessively dirty equipment.
Do I need to be present for delivery?
Yes, Someone over 18 years of age must be present to accept delivery at the nominated date and time to ensure safe, clear and legal access, and confirm the placement of the equipment.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept credit card, debit card, PayPal, Afterpay, GPay and Apple Pay . A bond is also required for all bookings.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation policies may vary depending on the booking. In some circumstances, a partial credit may be offered for future bookings, subject to management approval.
Cancellations made 7 days or more before the event date are eligible for a full refund.
Cancellations made within 7 days of the event may result in the loss of the deposit.
Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event may be charged the full hire fee.
By providing your credit card details, you authorise us to charge the card for any applicable cancellation fees.
What areas do you cover?
the marquee hire co. caters to all of Greater Melbourne, including the CBD, eastern suburbs, Yarra Valley, and Mornington Peninsula.
Do I need a permit?
Permits are generally not required for private property, however they may be required when setting up in public parks, reserves, or other public spaces.
It is the Hirer’s responsibility to obtain any required permits before the event. Any fines or penalties for setting up without the necessary permit are the responsibility of the Hirer, and the full hire fee will still apply.
Are your Marquees waterproof and UV resistant?
Yes. Our marquees are made with waterproof PVC material and UV protection. Side walls can also be hired for additional protection from wind and rain if required.
